“Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack, a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in.”

-Leonard Cohen

 About Me

I offer a soulful, safe and held space for you to explore your life, bring your difficulties and navigate your relationships.

Brighton and Hove | Hannah Phillips Counselling

My name is Hannah. I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with experience in meditation and mindfulness practices.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

I work with adults and young people (aged 16 and over) from a variety of backgrounds. I provide open-ended and short-term counselling in Brighton, or anywhere in the world via Zoom.

I welcome you if you feel in crisis, have or are experiencing trauma or are struggling with issues or decisions that you can’t find a way through alone. I work intuitively and creatively and I may offer imagery, drawing and a basket of natural objects to enable us to work deeply, broadening the therapeutic experience beyond words. We may explore dreams, the body and sub-personalities.

As well as running my private practice, I work as a Counsellor for Body and Soul a respected and innovative London based charity that uses a trauma-informed approach to address the life-threatening effects of childhood adversity in people of all ages.

I recently worked for Mid Sussex Counselling Centre and have volunteered as a Samaritan. I have a background living and working on Buddhist camping retreats as a manager and have taught photography as a mindfulness practice.

I've had a broad career working with a diverse range of clients including vulnerable adults and children. I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Philosophy (with Psychology and English) and am a trained masseuse. I have a special interest in working with those from multiple births (twins and more) and parents of multiples.

I trained at Re-Vision and hold a Diploma in Integrative Transpersonal Counselling. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and have full public liability insurance. I attend regular supervision and keep up to date with CPD (Continuing Professional Development).

I practice within the BACP Ethical Framework and am committed to providing therapy in a confidential and non-judgemental environment. I value and respect difference and diversity.

My practice is LGBTQI+ affirmative. I store your information according to the latest GDPR regulations. See my Privacy Policy.

I live by the sea in Saltdean, Brighton with my young family.

“The most powerful protection against being overwhelmed by stress and trauma... is being truly heard and seen by the people around us, a feeling that we are held in someone else’s mind and heart.”

- Bessel Van de Kolk
